Resources & FAQ

Do you offer refunds for cancellations?

Our classes take a great deal of pre-planning, set up, and there are costs to cover, including rental of our spacious classroom. If you have a reason to cancel more than three days before class, reach out to us by email. No refunds can be offered for cancellations less than three days before class. This means you must cancel by Saturday for Tuesday class.

What do I need to bring?

Our classroom is outfitted with sewing machines, cutting tools, a pressing station and basic hand tools such as seam rippers and chalk. For Intro to Sewing Machines, everything will be provided. But if you are bringing your own sewing machine, be sure to also bring a bobbin that fits your machine. For project classes, you will be provided with a list of materials needed when you register.

Do I need to own a sewing machine?

We have sewing machines available for use in class. If you have a sewing machine in good working order, feel free to bring it to class. If you have a gifted or thrifted machine and are not sure if it works, we can recommend places for tune up and may book private sessions to explore your sewing machine’s unique features.

We cannot troubleshoot or offer maintenance on old machines in a group class setting.

Do you offer children’s sewing classes?

No. Sewing with a machine involves complex skills, using a machine with multiple moving parts, and lots of perseverance. Currently we offer adults-only sewing classes, although we may allow parents to accompany younger teens, in some cases. Please reach out by email to discuss. In the future we may offer occasional workshops for tweens and teens.
